Former Resident Killed By Hit and Run Driver Tuesday

Funeral services for John Owens, 62, who was killed by a hit and run driver in East St. Louis, Tuesday, will be held at the Pulley Funeral home Saturday at 11 am. The Rev. Marsh Harpole will officiate and burial will be in Hopewell cemetery.

Mr. Owens was a former resident of this city and at the time of his death was employed at the stock yards in East St. Louis.

He was born in Jefferson county, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Doddson) Owen.

Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Mary Etta Beauford of Mt. Vernon.

His parents and one sister preceded him in death.

The body will lie in state at the Pulley Funeral home where friends may call.
