Slitha Ann (Hall) Padgett
Rite at Dix for Mrs. J. R. Padgett Mrs. Slitha Ann (Hall-Padgett, a former resident of Rome township, died at 8:05 a.m. yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jewell Foltz, in Beach Grove, Ind. Her age was 87 years and three months. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Osborn Funeral home in Dix, with the Rev. Ross Davidson officiating, and burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery. The body will remain at th Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, where friends may call. Mrs. Pedgett was born November 10, 1862 in Jefferson county, the daughter of Squire and Susan Ann (Hill-Hall. In 1880 she was married to J. R. Padgett, who preceded her in death in 1945. Mrs. Padgett was a member of the Christian church at Oakland, Ill. She is survived by five sons, George of Sioux City, Iowa, Emikl R. of Terre Haute, Ind., John F. of Naumee, Ohio, Book W., of Ardmore, Okla., and Herman of Hillsboro, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Cassie Moore of Mt. Vernon and MRs. Jewell Foltz of Beach Grove, Ind., a half-brother, Gilbert Simmons of Texico; 60 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
