Lily M. Parsons, 87, of Mt. Vernon died 10:04 p.m. Sept. 14, 2004, atNature Trail Health Care Center. Prior to her retirement, she wasemployed at Illinois Brokerage.

Mrs. Parsons was born Deb. 26, 1916, in Marion County to Roy and Dola (Mount) Holt.

She married James B. Parsons in March 1934 in Mt. Vernon; he died Nov. 22, 1975.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Everett Lemay will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens.Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Parsons is survived by daughters Mildred “Millie” Greene of Mt. Vernon and Sue Parsons of San Diego, Calif.; nephews Jimmy Pat Murphy of California and Ryan Murphy of California; and nieces Aris Ann Escamilla of California and Charlotte Murphy of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Irene Murphy.

Mrs. Parsons loved flower gardening.
