Peter John "Pete" Pasquinelli
Peter John "Pete" Pasquinelli, 77, of Mt. Vernon died 5 a.m. May 13, 2005, at his home. He was a retired laborer and had worked for Dowser Electric for more than 25 years. Born Oct. 7, 1927, in Butler, Penn. to Augusto and Valentina (Del Tredici) Pasquinelli, he married Holly Holler on Sept. 3, 1960, in Salem. Memorial mass willbe 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon. The chaplain of American Legion Post 141 of Mt. Vernon will conduct a military flag presentation upon the conclusion of the mass. Father Dan Jurek will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. He is survived by his wife of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Christopher Pasquinelli of Mt. Vernon and Reed Pasquinelli of Richmond, Ind.; a daughter Valentina Pasquinelli of San Antonio, a sister Mary Onufrak of Butler Penn. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters. Pete was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving a total of 21 years in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon, VFW Post 1376 and of the Air Force Sergeants Association. For those who wish, memorials may be made to St. Mary School and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
