Milford A. Payne, 67, of Tucson, Arizona, a former resident of Mt. Vernon, died Tuesday in Tucson.

Mr. Payne was born in Mt. Vernon on August 17, 1904, the son of John O. and Eunice (Brought) Payne.

He was married to Hallien Wetzer, who survives.

He was employed as an operating engineer.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Myers Chapel, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel after 6:00 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Payne is survived by his wife Hallien, one daughter, Mrs. Myrna Butler, Danville, son Ronald Payne, Elmhurst, two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Whitney, St. Louis, Missouri, and Mrs. Belvia Bolerjack, Mt. Vernon; and several grandchildren.
