Rose Alice (Anderson) Payne
Rose Payne, 88, Of Clurose, Dies; Rites Tomorrow Mrs. Rose Alice Payne, 88, of Bluford, died at 5:35 p.m. Monday at the Mt. Vernon Tuberculosis Sanatarium. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Richardson Chapel in Wayne City. The Rev. Harold Whitsell will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Zion cemetery, south of Keenes. (Farnsworth Cemetery, Four Mile Twp, Wayne County, IL) The body will lie in state at the Richardson Chapel, where friends may call at any time. Mrs. Payne was born March 28, 1869 in Wayne county, the daughter of Albert and Emmaline (Neal) Anderson. She was married to Elijah Payne, who died in 1937. She was a member of the Salem Free Will Baptist church, south of Keenes. Mrs. Payne is survived by two sons, Albert and Faye Payne, both of Bluford; three daughters, Mrs. Ruey Bolin of Sullivan, Ill., Miss Ola Payne of St. Louis and Mrs. Bernice Terrell of Belle Rive; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven children.
