WIDOW OF LATE W. B. PHILLIPS DIED TODAY Mrs. Nettie Lacey PHILLIPS, 70, died this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Warren, 1119 Oakland Avenue. She was the widow of the late W. B. Phillips, prominent Jefferson county teacher, banker, and legislator. Mrs. Phillips fell three weeks ago, dislocating a hip. Her condition became gradually worse until her death. Mr. Phillips died April 19, 1929. Funeral services will be held at the Hawkins Funeral Home Thursday morning at 10:30. The body will lie in state there until the funeral.Burial will be in Oakwood. She was born June 18, 1868, near Woodlawn, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Lacey. She was married to W. B. Phillips October 1, 1885, and they were the parents of eight children, five of whom are living. Her children are Mrs. Dorothy Warren and Mrs. Mary Ewers of Mt. Vernon; Mrs. Cora Adams of Maywood; Mrs. Alberta Larson, of Elmhurst; Wm. Maurice Phillips of Grafton, three of her children, Mrs. Pearl Burntte, Wendell Phillips and Mrs. Fern Pittman are deceased. Two brothers survive. They are Dr. J. H. lacey, Denver, Colorado and C. G. Lacey of Arcadia, California. Mrs. Phillips was a helping wife during the years when her husband's career led from the country schoolroom to the state legislature. In tribute it has been said that she was a good wife, devoted mother, kind neighbor and a true Christian.
