Minnie (Huffstutler) Belt Cluck Phillips
Minnie Phillips of 701 Herbert, died at 3:45 am today at Good Samaritan Hospital, at the age of 88 years, one month, and 10 days. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday at Myers Chapel with the Rev. Ace Summers, Rev. E. J. McClintock and Rev. Lloyd Addair officiating. Burial will be in South Hicory Hill Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 5:00 pm Tuesday. Mrs. Phillips was born Mar. 5, 1880, in Hamilton County, that daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Huffstutler. She was married to Pierce Phillips in St. Louis. He preceeded her in death in 1956. She was first married to Howard Belt, secondly, to Adam Cluck, who preceeded her in death, and then to Mr. Phillips. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Lucille Gilbert, Mrs. Lena Webb, and Mrs. Zola Griffin, all of Mt. Vernon; Mrs. Nola Porter of Ellery, and Mrs. Nellie Mezo of McLeansboro; a son, Willis Kluck of Mt. Vernon. Three stepdaughters, Mrs. Mae Nelson of Chicago; Mrs. Lou Williford of Brownstown, and Mrs. Alma Jones of Belle Rive; and two stepsons, Dean Phillips and Fred Phillips, both of Hammond, Ind.; a brother, Oscar Huffstutler of McLeansboro; 24 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
