PANSY LENORA PIERCE Pansy Lenora PIERCE, 93, of Mt. Vernon died 5:15 p.m. Dec. 14, 2003, at the home of her daughter in Mt. Zion. She was a homemaker. Mrs. PIERCE was born March 25, 1910, in Jefferson County to William Albert and Josephine (DALE) HUGHEY. She married Herbert PIERCE June 20, 1928, in Ewing. He died Jan. 1, 1976. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Michael KNIGHT officiated. Burial followed at Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Mrs. PIERCE is survived by a son, Jerry D. PIERCE and wife Carleen of Mt. Vernon; daughters JoAnne COX of Mt. Vernon, Joyce KNIGHT and husband Gilbert of Mt. Zion and Dorothy Lee CAMPBELL of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Afton JONES and husband Kenneth of Ina; ten grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Edna HUGHEY, Theo HUGHEY and Helen HUGHEY; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, William Jerry PIERCE and Herbert PIERCE Jr.; three brothers, Earl, Frank and Omer HUGHEY; three sisters, Aline WILLS, Leota OATHOUT and Clara CRAWFORD; three grandsons, Robert Scott COX, Dudley Ray PIERCE and Clifton Hugh PIERCE; and a great-granddaughter, Megan Renee GARRETT. Mrs. PIERCE was a member of East Side Baptist Church and the Jefferson County Home Extension. She attended Bonnie High School.
