Alva Piercy
(includes photo) Alva PIERCY, 79, of Ina died 9:40 p.m. Feb. 27, 2002, at Mt. Vernon Care Center. Mr. PIERCY was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Richview to Homer and Beulah (KEMP) PIERCY. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina. Mr. PIERCY was survived by one son, Robert PIERCY and wife Minnie of Ina; one daughter, Judith RAGAN of Pocahontas, Ark; six grandchilden Tricia WINGFIELD and Carole KILMAN, both of Mt. Vernon, and Steve RAGAN, Bobbie RAGAN, Jeff RAGAN and Shannon RAGAN, all of Ark.; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Dean PIERCY and wife Marcie of Calif., and Doug PIERCY and wife Pat of Centralia; and a sister-in-law, Virginia PIERCY of Centralia. Mr. PIERCY was a World War II veteran serving from 1943 to 1945. He was awarded two Bronze Stars and served in the Western Pacific. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Roxy Jo; a brother Charles PIERCY; and a sister, Wanda KNOX.
