MT. VERNON -- Harold E. Pigg Sr., 92, of Benton Road in Mt. Vernon, died at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Crossroad Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Mr. Piegg was born in Mt. Vernon on Nov. 8, 1898, son of Malberry M. "Dutch" and Louella (Crise) Pigg.

He first married Dora J. Petruska, who preceded him in death in 1954.

On June 30, 1961, he married Margaret L. Krone in Bloomington, and she died July 26, 1984.

Survivors include a son, Harold E. Pigg Jr. of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Chancie Woodrow "Woody" Pigg of Mt. Vernon; three sisters, Irene W. Christeneen, Vermadel Schwengel and Betty Waters, all of Mt. Vernon; and a grandchild.

Mr. Pigg was a retired employee of Norfolk and Western Railroad and a member of Central Christian Church, Railway Carmen Association Lodge 227 in Decatur and Transportation, Communication International Union.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with J. Howard Kraps officating. Burial will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens.

Visitations were held Saturday at the funeral home.
