Elsie Pitman Dies At Age 56; Rites Thursday Mrs. Elsie May Pitman, of 306 south 12th street, died at 2:10 o'clock this morning at Good Samaritan Hospital, where she had been a patient for eight days. She was 56 years, six months and 17 days of age. Funeral services will be hdl Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Everette Lemay will officiate and burial will be in Bethel Memorial cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel, where friends may call afater 4:00 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Pitman was born November 25, 1903 in Jefferson county, the daughter of Ras and Eva (Bullock) Troutt. She was a lifetime resident of this county. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy E. Pigg of Mt. Vernon; one brother, William Troutt of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Mrs. Leona Dixon of Rocky Face, Ga.; and a half-sister, Mrs. Juanita Sandusky of McLeansboro.
