Arthur Pittman - Mt. Vernon

Arthur Harold Pittman, 56, of 320 N. 5th St., died at 11 a.m. Friday at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Mr. Pittman was born in Jefferson county on Jan. 30, 1917, the son of Edward and Dora (Barnett) Pittman.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, having reached the rank of Sergeant 1st Class.

He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Funeral services for Mr. Pittman will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Myers Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Freytag officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel after 5 p.m. today. Military services will be conducted by the American Legion.

Mr. Pittman is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Nina Moss, Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Pauline Phillips, East St. Louis.
