Ed Pittman, son of Mr. & Mrs. Joe Pittman was born May 20, 1891, in Jefferson county, Illinois and departed this life December 14, 1943 at the age of 52 years, 6 months, and 24 days.

On April 2nd, 1912 he was married to Dora Barnett.

To this union three children were born; Mrs. Pauline Phillips of St. Louis, Mrs. Bob Ed Moss of Harrisburg, and Arthur, who is in the United States Army in Camp at Los Angeles, California.

He spent the greater part of his life in Jefferson county as a farmer and an employee at the Mt. Vernon Car Shops. The last few years he had been in failing health and being unable to work the last few months he made his home with his brother Willie and was there when the end came.

He leaves to morn his going his three children, one granddaughter, Jean Ellen Moss, his father, two brothers, Willie of Mt. Vernon, Finley of Scheller, three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Lewis of Peoria, Mrs. Ruth Panzer of Waltonville, Mrs. Earl Davis of Waltonville, one half brother Lawrence Pittman near Scheller, one half sister Mrs. Beulah Tefft of West Frankfort. Other relatives and friends will sadly miss him.
