Fred B. Poston Dies Suddenly Rites Saturday Fred Bateman Poston died at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at his home, 301 Marteny, following an apparent heart attack. He was 57 years and 14 days old. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the First Church of God, of which he was a member, with the Rev. William P. Siebert officiating. Burial will be in East Hickory Hill cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Pully-Gutzler Funeral Home where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. today. At noon, Saturday, the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the funeral hour. Mr. Poston was born Nov. 20, 1905 at Valier, Ill., the son of Charles and Emma (Pickett) Poston. He was married to Myrtle Willmore, who survives. He is also surived by four sons, Laverne, Gale, and Larry Poston, all of Mt. Vernon, and Ross Poston of Marlow; four daughters, Mrs. Leola Baydeen Ward of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Martha Christine Burton of Nashville, Tenn., Mrs. Marcella Marie Ethridge of Centralia, and Miss Esther Lucille Poston of Carbondale; three half-brothers, Bill and Jack Poston of Mt. Vernon, and Glen Poston of Waltonville; a sister, Mrs. Bob Mooney of Waltonville; two half-sisters, Mrs. Frank Smith and Mrs Bill Smith, both of Mt. Vernon; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by hi parents, two daughters, and one son.
