Myrtle Bell (Willmore) Poston
Myrtle Bell Poston, 77, 728 Fairfield Road, died at 11:50 a.m. Saturday in Good Samaritan Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Church of God, with the Rev. Carl Simmons officiating. Burial will be in East Hickory Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hughey Funeral Home after 6 p.m. today, and after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the First Church of God, and will be accepted at the funeral home. Mrs. Poston was born Aug. 31, 1904, in Tamoroa, the daughter of John and Minerva Bell (Lewis) Willmore. In 1924, in Benton, she married Fred Poston, who died July 4, 1963.Suvivors include three sons, Gale Poston, Larry Poston, and Ross Poston, all of Mt. Vernon; three daughters, Martha Christina Burton, Catlin, Marcella Poston and Esther Poston, both of Alexandria, VA., one brother, Okley Wilmore, Mt. Vernon; 24 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by, her parents, two sons, three daughters, and two brothers. Mrs. Poston was a member of the First Church of God.
