Almeda (Minor) Wiggins Propes
Almeda Propes Of Bluford Dies; Funeral Sunday Mrs. Almeda (Wiggins) Propes, 95, of Route 1, Bluford, died at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, of which she was a member, with the Rev. Roy Beal officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Bluford Funeral Home, where friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Saturday. At noon Sunday the body will be taken to the Church to lie in state until the funeral hour. Mrs. Propes was born, April 23, 1873, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Mrs. Martha Minor. In 1891, she was married to Sheridan Wiggins, who died May 11, 1932. In 1952, she was married to Willie Propes, who preceded her in death June 1, 1964. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Pearl Fry of Garrod, Ill., Mrs. Effle Fry and Mrs. Minnie Bradford both of Bluford, one nephew. Pearl Holloway of Wayne City; one niece, Mrs. Jennie Youngblood of Mt. Vernon; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, one daughter and two sisters.
