Russell Puckett Of Mt. Vernon Died At Age 84

Russell E. Puckett, 84, 1408 S. 13th St., died 4:50 p.m. Sept 22, 1989, at St. Louis University Hospital.

Mr. Puckett was employed at Vernois Inc. for 25 years and later worked at Rudy Patrick Seed Co.

He was born Sept 28, 1904, in Jefferson County, a son of John and Claudia (Toney) Puckett.

June 13, 1969 in Mt. Vernon, he married Theda Mae Cook Sheborn, who survives.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hughey Funeral Home with J. Howard Kraps officiating. Burial will follow at South Hickory Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to South Hickory Hill Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home at any time.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Arlen R. Puckett and wife Sharon of Riverview, Fla.; two daughters, Darlene Walker of Waukegan and Mrs. Clyde (Phyllis) Patterson of Lake Placid, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Wooden of Mt. Vernon; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Puckett attended South Hickory Hill Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Robert, Arthur, Loyd and Thomas; two sisters Carmen Livesay and Opal Black; and a daughter, Evangeline Puckett.
