Samuel Quinn Dies at Age 96

Samuel Quinn, age 96 years and 29 days, died at 7 pm today. He was a resident of Scheller for 63 years where he was active in farming.

Funeral services will be held at the Scheller Baptist church, Sunday at 1 pm and burial will be in Horse Prairie cemetery.

Mr. Quinn was born December 18, 1849 in Blissville township and was the son of Samuel and Martha (Taylor) Quinn. His wife, the former Sarah E. Fleener, preceded him in death January 1, 1939.

He leaves four sons, Isaac L., of Waltonville, W.B. of Centralia, John B., of Scheller and Dennis of Mt. Vernon. Twenty grandchildren and eighteen great-granchildren also survive.

The body will remain at Myers chapel until 9 am Saturday when it will be taken to the home of his son, John Quinn, one mile south of Scheller, to remain until the funeral hour.
