Gertrude Hayes Randall, 92, of Mt. Vernon died 8:30 p.m. May 27, 2003, at St. Mary's/Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.

She was a homemaker, loving mom, foster parent and adored grandmother for many years.

Mrs. Randall was born March 28, 1911, in Jefferson County.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. today at Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Pastor Rodney Mellot will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Mt. Vernon. Friends may call after noon today at Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Randall is survived by two sons, Ray David Hayes and wife Kathleen of Mt. Vernon and Robert Dean Hayes and wife Mary of Indiana; one grandson, Richard Hayes and wife Heather; two granddaughters, Elisha Hayes and Courtney Hayes; great-grandson, Zachery; and daughter-in-law, Virginia Hayes of Florida.

She was preceded in death by husbands Ralph Hayes and Donald Randall; and one son, Ronald Dee Hayes.
