Alice Rankin
Mrs. Alice RANKIN of Bethel Road, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospital at the age of 91y 6m 23d. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Myers Chapel with the Rev. Carl WHITTINGTON officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 5:00 p.m. on Monday. On November 30, 1876, in Jefferson County, she was born the daughter of D. C. and Paralee (FISHER) YOUNGBLOOD. She married E. O. RANKIN who preceded her in death in March 1948. She was also preceded in death by three sisters. Survivors include a foster daughter, Mrs. Mae MASSIE of Granite City; three sisters, Mrs. IDa HOLMAN of Phoeniz, Ariz., Mrs. Rosa BURRIS and Mrs. Jessie WYATT, both of Granite City. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church. Note: In my research I have found that her mother is Paralee Harmon. D. C. Youngblood's parents were John Youngblood and Mary Fisher.
