Margaret Alice Reed, 84, of Dahlgren died 12:12 p.m. March 15, 2006, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Reed was born Dec. 15, 1921, in Mt. Vernon to Orville E. and Bernadine (Robinson) Warren.

She married Virgil H. "Pete" Pigg Sept. 13, 1940, in Henderson, Ky.; he preceded her in death Aug. 1, 1968.

She later married Lewis C. Reed Nov. 4, 1977, in Mt. Vernon; he preceded her in death April 30, 1986.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. J. Howard Kraps will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn. Friends may call from 9 a.m. Saturday until the funeral hour at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Reed is survived by a son, Tim Pigg and wife Joni of Dahlgren; four grandchildren, Rick Pigg and wife Debi of Mt. Vernon, Misty Blades and husband Tim of Dahlgren, Megan Parker and husband Eric of Dahlgren and Zachary Pigg of Dahlgren; two stepdaughters, Karen Brieseacher and husband Robert of Mt. Vernon and Trena Reed of Mt. Vernon; seven great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren, including Lisa Volk of Arizona; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; and a step-great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a son, Michael Pigg; and a stepdaughter, Helen Puckett.

Mrs. Reed was a member of Central Christian Church in Mt. Vernon, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 233 of Mt. Vernon and the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem 66.
