Walter P. Restoff
Walter P. Restoff, 91, of Scheller passed away 1:40 p.m. Aug. 9, 2005, at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin. Mr. Restoff was a farmer and a trucker for many years. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois. He was born June 23, 1914, in Perry County, a son of William P. and Mary (Kabat) Restoff. He married Josephine M. (Danczyk) Restoff Nov. 4, 1939, in Chicago; she survives. Mr. Restoff is survived by his wife, of Scheller; two sons, Raymond Restoff and wife Xenia and Eugene Restoff and wife LaVerne, all of Scheller; a sister-in-law, Regina Restoff of Florida; 10 grandchildren, Tom Restoff and wife Kathryn of Scheller, Kathy Krisfaluzy and husband Michael of Du Quoin, Diane Buza and husband Randy of Scheller, Kevin Restoff of Scheller, Francie Landawee and husband David of Chaffee, Mo., Jim Restoff of Okawville, Bob Restoff and wife Diedra of Tamaroa, Danny Restoff and wife Andrea of Tamaroa, Steven Restoff and wife Kim of Pinckneyville and Jeannie Restoff of Scheller; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and six brothers. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois, with the Rev. Larry Lemay officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa. Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Charles Cemetery in Du Bois. Friends may make memorials to Masses, St. Charles Catholic Church or St. Charles Cemetery and they will be accepted at the funeral home.
