Flora D. Richardson, 76, of Belle Rive died 4:20 a.m. Dec. 4, 2004, at Doctor's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem.

She first worked as an office manager for Mt. Vernon Shoe Factory and later as a secretary for WMCL Radio.

Mrs. Richardson was born Nov. 3, 1928, in Jefferson County to Edman "Ted" and Alma (Burgin) Davenport.

She married Robert Glen Richardson on Oct. 22, 1949, in Mt. Vernon; he died Aug. 9, 1984.

Funeral services were to be held 10 a.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, with Guy Leonard and the Rev. Dwain Miller to officiate. Burial was to follow at Belle Rive-Flint Cemetery in Belle Rive.

Mrs. Richardson is survived by sisters Kathryn Hawkins and husband Clifford of Mt. Vernon and Marcella G. Peacock of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her lifelong beloved friend, Kenneth Compton of Mt. Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and four brothers, Ralph, Homer, Wayne and Everett Davenport.

Mrs. Richardson was a member of Belle Rive Missionary Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Home Extension for several years.
