Thelma C. Roberts, 88, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 12:45 A.M. on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at White Oak Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

She was born on October 4, 1921 in Middleton, Tennessee the daughter of the late Arch G. Jones and Lyndall B. Bishop.

She married Sherman Roberts on August 25, 1941 in Jackson, Missouri and he preceded her in death on April 20, 1984.

Surviving family members include her 2 Sons: Recil Roberts of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Lonny T. Roberts of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 3 Daughters: Sue Prainito and husband John of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Betty Keele of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Jane Hart and husband Sonny of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 6 Grandchildren: Jim Sammons and wife Laurie of Anchorage, Alaska, Kelly Barva and husband Brian of Bonnie, Illinois, Tara Keele of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Randee Roberts of McLeansboro, Illinois, Kacy Hughes and husband Michael of Evansville, Indiana and Ryan Hart and wife Lauren of Evansville, Indiana; 10 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandson; Brother: Bobby Jones and wife Gladys of Springfield, Missouri; Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Her parents, husband, one sister and four brothers preceded her in death.

FACTS:
Thelma and her husband were owners and operators of Rocket Cafe in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and worked for Dowzer Electric for 27 years

ARRANGEMENTS:

GRAVESIDE SERVICES:
will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at South Hickory Hill Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois. Pastor Ron Reynolds will officiate.

INTERMENT:
South Hickory Hill Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois.

VISITATION:
There will be no public visitation held. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Donor's Choice and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.
