Cora Elizabeth Rogers, 82, of RFD 5, Mt. Vernon, died at Good Samaritan Hospital last night at 11:30.

She was born in Mt. Vernon September 24, 1871, the daughter of Charles W. and Mary Jane (Bates) Chastain.

She was married April 12, 1903 to Robert Troy Rogers, who survives.

Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm conducted by the Rev. J. L. Mayhew of Shelbyville, Ill. and the pastor, the Rev. O. H. Hunsaker. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Pulley Funeral Home where friends may call until the funeral hour.

Surviving, besides the husband, are a son, Ralph I. Johnson of Bradley, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Don Hazelton and Mrs. Thomas H. Shepherd, both of Robinson, Ill.; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Harris Borden of Cobden and Mrs. Wm. T. Sledge of Bluford and Mrs. Floyd Smith of Centralia.

A brother and a sister are dead.
