Agnes Louise (Schell) Ronat
Agnes Louise Ronat, 82, Mt. Vernon, died at 9:35 a.m. July 6, 2007, at Doctors Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Salem. She was born June 20, 1925, in Greenville, the daughter of William J. and Elsie D. (Elam) Schell. She married Arthur A. Ronat on March 31, 1946, in Smithboro. A funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Church in Mt. Vernon with Father Daniel Jurek officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at noon Tuesday at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Greenville. Agnes is survived by her husband, Arthur A. Ronat of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Dr. Ed Ronat and wife Teresa of Mt. Vernon and David Ronat and wife Eugenia of St. Louis; two sisters, Nina Marie Miller and Virginia Marti and husband Vesper, all of Greenville; three grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; one daughter, Mary Jo Ronat; and one brother-in-law, Cornelius Miller. Agnes was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon, the American Legion Auxiliary of Post 141, Bargain Box of Good Samaritan Auxiliary and the Ladies’ Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1376. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Hospice of the Good Samaritan and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Ill. 62864.
