Mrs. Mary Ellen RONEY, wife of Samuel W. Roney, died at 6:30 a.m. today at the family residence 211(?) south Fifteenth street after a lingering illness. Her age was 67 years, 7 months and 8 days.

The body will lie in state at Hawkins Funeral Home, where services will be held Thursday at 2 with the Rev. T. A. HARPER, pastor of the Wesley church of ????

Mrs. Roney, daughter of Samuel W. and Sarah Louise MEDDERS was born September 22, 1873 in Jefferson county and spent most of her life as a citizen of Mt. Vernon.

She was married to Sameul W. Roney January 31, 1897, who with an adopted son, Robert, survives. An only child died in infancy.

Also surviving are two brothers, Gus and Norrel Medders. Mrs. Roney was a proba- tion officer for many years and was widely known throughout the county.
