Mrs. Ethel Russell, 83, of 324 S. 2nd St., died at 9:15 p.m. yesterday at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Mrs. Russell was born in Jefferson county on Dec. 9, 1889, the daughter of Granville and Frances (Pigg) Pigg.

She was married in Jefferson county in 1907 to Marshall Russell, who died August 4, 1950.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Hughey-Pulley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Buss Hart officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Saturday.

Mrs. Russell is survived by two sons, Norville Russell, and Ralph Russell, both of Mt. Vernon; four daughters, Mrs. Martha Chamberlain, Mrs. Lena Faye Gregory, Mrs. Alma Tapp, and Mrs. Thelma Dial, all of Mt. Vernon; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Della Dedman, Mt. Vernon.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
