Harvey Sammons, 82, 1410 Wilshire Drive, died 12:25 p.m. Nov. 16, 1988, at Good Samaritan Regional Heath Center.

Mr. Sammons was retired from Illinois Power Co. after 31 years in the Electrical Department.

Mr. Sammons was born June 7, 1906, in Jefferson County, a son of Claude and Lizzie (Sledge) Sammons.

July 19, 1940, in Clayton, MO, he married Hazel Irene Kline, who survivies.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Friesner officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Sammons is survivied by two sons, James H. Sammons of Carbondale and William R. Sammons and wife, Teresa, of Louisville, KY; one brother, Jess Sammons and wife, Virginia, of Mt. Vernon,; one sister, Mrs. Art (Ruth) Phillips of Mt. Vernon; one nephew, Jerry K. Sammons; and one niece, Sue Johnson.

Mr. Sammons was a member of International Brotherhood Electrical Workers Local 702 in West Frankfort.

Mr. Sammons was preceded in death by his parents.
