Mrs. Sally Sammons, who for many years was a resident of this community, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lee Harris, near Bluford, last Saturday. She had been a sufferer for several weeks of pneumonia and the infirmities of old age, being about 79 years of age.

The funeral was conducted here on Sunday (Easter) by Rev. A. L. Smith followed by interment at the side of her husband, the late Thomas Sammons, in Atkinson graveyard.

She leaves nine children, all living. They are John and Robert of Mt. Vernon, William of Farrington Township, Edward of Tennessee, Mrs. James Pigg, Mrs. Susan Hutcherson, Mrs. Lisetta Dodson of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Elza Carroll and Mrs. Lee Harris of Bluford. All were present at the funeral except Edward.
