Raymond Roy (Bud) Scrivner

Raymond Roy (Bud) Scrivner, 29, an overseas veteran of World war II, died at 7 a.m. today at his home on the Fairfield Road near Camp Ground.

He entered the service July 28, 1943 and served for 16 months in New Guinea, the Philippines and Japan. He had been in poor health since his discharge from the Army Signal Corps in February of this year.

Services conducted by the Rev. Bird Green will be held in Myers Chapel on Sunday at 2p.m. The body will lie in state at the home after 10a.m. Saturday and will remain there until 11 a.m. Sunday when it will be taken to the chapel for the funeral.

Mr. Scrivner was a lifelong resident of the Camp Groound neighborhood and attended Mt. Vernon Township high school. He was an employe of the Mt. Vernon Car Mfg. company.

He was born July 29, 1917 the son of Tom M. and Loe (Swem) Scrivner.

He married Miss Ruby Clemins on Sept. 14, 1940.

Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Scrivner is survived by one sister, Mrs. Caroline Standerfer of Camp Ground.
