Cephas Edgar Sexton
Cephas Edgar Sexton was born July 14, 1892, and departed this life November 16, 1946, at the Veterans' Hospital in Marion, Illinois. Mr. Sexton served as a private in World War I with C.F.45th Inf. He was a member of the Long Prairie Baptist church and American Legion. He was married July 15, 1935, to Ethel Payne, who survives. Besides his wife, he is survived by two brothers, William Sexton of Lake City, Iowa, Harvey Sexton of St. Louis, Mo., and five sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Deck of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Rena Overby of Belle Rive, Ill., Mrs. Ora Keele and Mrs. Pearl Keele of Rockwell City, Iowa, and Mrs. Amy Richardson of Laurens, Iowa. Also a large number of nephews and nieces. Mr. Sexton lived in Turner School district near Dahlgren until his marriage when he moved to the Liberty neighborhood. He will be greatly missed by a host of friends and neighbors in both neighborhoods where he was held in high esteem.
