Ivan L. Shields Dies at Age 30; Rites Thursday

Ivan Lee Shields of 1201 south 12th street died at 11:55 p.m. Monday. He was 30 years, five months, and 23 days old.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Myeres Chapel with the Rev. Chester A. Taylor officiating.

The body will lie in state at Myers chapel where Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.

he was born July 2, 1931, in Mt. Vernon, the son of William Wendell and Essie (Fleener) Shields, who survive.

He is also survived by three brothers, J.D. and Charles Edward Shields of this city, and William W. Shields, Jr., of McLeansboro.
