Chandler Shrum of Belle Rive Dies at Age 67

Chandler H. Shrum, 67, of Belle Rive, died at 7:35 p.m. yesterday at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Laird Missionary Baptist church near Blle Rive, of which he was a member. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren where friends may call after noon tomorrow.

Mr. Shrum was born July 22, 1892, in Belle Rive, the son of Elmer and Lucy Ann (McCord) Shrum.

He was married to Ruth Ella Riggs, who survives.

Other survivors include severan sons, Cecil Shrum of Phoenix, Ariz., Loren Shrum of Lebanon, Pa., Leonard Shrum of Manteno, Benny Shrum of Lockport, Louis and Ross Shrum of this city and Curist Shrum of La Porte, Ind.; seven daughters Mrs. Alice Peacock of Belle Rive, Mrs. Eva Gregory of Alton, Mrs. Florence Summers, of this city, Mrs. Iva McKenney and Mrs. Oneida Minor of Michigan City, Ind., Mrs. nellie Gentle of this city, Mrs. George Scrivner of Murphysboro; and 25 grandchildren.
