Sid Sigwerth
Sid Sigwerth died at 7:25 o'clock this morning at his home 1005 S. Sixth Street, at the age of 68 years, six months and 17 days. Mr. Sigwerth, a farmer most of his life, had been employed for the past four years at Hawkins Million Dollar Hen. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodlawn Baptist Church, with the Rev. Everett Apgar officiating, and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. The body will remain at the family home, where friends may call at any time until the funeral hour. Mr. Sigwerth was born July 20, 1881 in Jefferson county, the son of John and Christina (Offill) Sigwerth. On December 25, 1904, he was married to Lizzie Jury, whio survives. Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Raymond of Woodlawn and Sidney, John and Charles of Mt. Vernon; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Coates of Bonnie, Mrs. Orpha Rector of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Katie Kemp of Centralia. A sister Mrs. May Hall of Waltonville and six grandchildren. A son Arthur R. Sigwerth was killed October 1, 1944, during World War II, in New Guinea.
