William H. Slamans
William H. SLAMANS, 71, of Ewing, died at 7:40 p.m. Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fern TAYLOR, 423 S. 15th Street, Mt. Vernon. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the New Hope Church. The Rev. Dwight DAME and the Rev. Carl WILLIAMS will officiate and burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. The body will remain at the Ina Funeral Home where friends may call after 5:00 p.m. today. Mr. SLAMANS was a farmer. He was born July 21, 1883 in Ewing, the son of Michael and Martha (McKINNEY) SLAMANS. On December 23, 1906, he was married to Anna GIFFORD, who preceded him in death. He was a member of the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving are four sons: Sam of Ina, Nelson of Hominy, Okla., Paul of Ada, Okla., and John of Mt. Vernon: two daughter, Fern TAYLOR and Fay McLAUGHLIN of Mt. Vernon: and 13 grandchildren.
