Mrs. Mary Smith, wife of Thomas Smith, died at her home in Howell, Ind., at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon, of lung trouble, after a long illness.

Deceased formerly lived in this city but removed to Howell with her husband at the time the L & N shops were transferred to that point.

Mrs. Smith was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Vaughn, and the sister of Charles Vaughn of this city and John Vaughn of Princeton, Ind.

The remains were brought here on the L & N train this afternoon.

The interment will take place Saturday, but at which cemetery we were unable to ascertain.
