Myrtle Smith, Widow of Mt. V. Doctor, Dies

Mrs. Myrtle Smith of 1800 Isabella, widow of the late Dr. Robert Smith, died at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Good Samaritan Hospital, where she had been a patient for the past four weeks.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Lloyd Trotter and the Rev. Bird Green will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. The body will remain at Myers Chapel where friends may call at any time until the funeral hour.

Mrs. Smith, the daughter of John Robert and Lizzie (Owens) Green was a lifetime resident of Jefferson county.

In December, 1935, she was married to Dr. Robert Smith who preceded her in death November 16, 1949.

She was a member of the East Hickory Hill Baptist church.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Maud Adams of Bluford, Mrs. Gladys Wood of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Lela Riemenschneider of Marshalltown, Iowa, and three brothers, James Green of Ames, Iowa, Travis Green of Bluford and Wayne Green of Waltonville.
