Diana Kaye Smith, 62, Bluford, passed away at 5:45 a.m. July 9, 2007, at her daughter’s home in Dix.

She was born on July 27, 1944, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Charles Hargrove and Lizzie (Hart) Hargrove.

She was married to Minford Smith. She was a caregiver.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn with the Rev. Reverend Wendall Garrison officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens.

Diana is survived by two daughters, Don Hargrove of Mt. Vernon, and Sheryl L. Maguin and special friend Lori Foster of Dix; four grandchildren, Christopher Matthew Hargrove, Jason Adam Hargrove, Jennifer Diana Hargrove, Bradley Joseph Maguin; great grandson Alexander Hargrove; two brothers, William Hargrove and Donald Joe Veatch; two sisters, Delores Hatley and Jeanne Baldwin; and a half-sister, Debbie Roeder and husband Henry. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Her parents, her son, James V. Maguin, and one sister, Shirley Ford, preceded her in death.

Diana was a member of the Mt. Vernon Eagles Aerie Lodge 2791.
