Fred Lucas SMITH died at 9:10 p.m. Sunday at his home on RFD 5, Mt. Vernon, at the age of 64 years, one month and 22 days.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Myers Chapel. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. SMITH was born February 6, 1901, in Gallatin County, the son of William H. and Nannie (TAYLOR) SMITH.

In 1927, at Nashville, Ill., he was married to Mina D. DAVIS, who survives.

He is also survived by three brothers, C. Edward SMITH of this city, Frank SMITH of Dixon, Ill., and Walter SMITH of Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel SOLLIS of Dixon, Ill., and Mrs. Marie RUNNELS of Nashville, Tenn.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Willie and John SMITH, and a sister, Mary.

Mr. SMITH was a retired carpenter.
