Dana E. Soloman

Dana E. Soloman, 63, of Mt. Vernon died at 2:22 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 11,2011, at Nature Trail Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon.

He was born Oct. 17, 1948, in Danville, son of Paul and Mary (Neideffer) Soloman.

He married Carla Storment in 1976 in Mt. Vernon, and she preceded him in death May 16, 2006.

Mr. Soloman is survived by two sons, London Soloman and wife Carol, and Kash Soloman and wife Debbie, all of Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Kaycee Rosko of Ina; four grandchildren, Kobe and Creed Rosko of Ina, London Soloman II of Olney, and Peyton Soloman of Mt. Vernon; and a sister, Mary Hutcherson and husband Wren of Mt. Vernon.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; and a son-in-law, Jason Rosko.

Mr. Soloman served in the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Page Roofing until his health failed.

He was a past member of Mt. Vernon American Legion Post 141 and was of the Baptist faith.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hopewell Cemetery in Jefferson County with Chaplain Ernie Collins officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by Mt. Vernon American Legion Post 141. No visitation is scheduled. Hughey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
