Ira L. Staley Burial: Maple Hill, Fairfield Ira L. Staley, 88, of Fairfield died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was a retired employee of the Southern Railroad. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Bluford Funeral Home with the Rev. Ross Partridge officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery at Fairfield. The body will lie in state at the Bluford Funeral Home where friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Members of Jefferson Lodge 368 A.F. & A.M., of Opdyke, of which he had been a member for almost fifty years, will conduct Masonic rites. Mr. Staley was born May 11, 1878, in Jefferson county, the son of James R. and Grace (Bain) Staley. He was married to Nora Branson, who preceded him in death in 1951. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, a brother, and two sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marie Atteberry of Fairfield; a brother, Ed Staley of Bluford; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Snodsmith of Manteno; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Staley was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church of Bluford.
