Bobby A. Staley, 71, of Texico, died on October 21, 2008, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

He was born on April 23, 1937 in Texico, the son of Pete and Edith Scott Staley.

On March 14, 1958 in Mt. Vernon he married Patsy Hayes and she survives in Texico.

Mr. Staley graduated from Harlow Grade School and Mt. Vernon High School.

He served in the Illinois Nation Guard and was a member of Panther Fork Baptist Church. He retired from General Tire.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Bobby Pete Staley and wife Kim of Texico, two daughters, Gina Ellis and husband erry of Mt. Vernon and Becky Shirley and husband Bob of Texico, eight grandchildren, Jennifer Donoho and husband Dustin, Bluford, Christopher Ellis, Mt. Vernon, Jamie Brieseacher and husband Ryne, Mt. Vernon, Amanda Flanagan and husband Bob, Texico, Kristina Staley, Mt. Vernon, Erin Shirley, Texico, Chad Wilson, Texico, Rebekah Ellis, Mt. Vernon, three brothers, Harry Staley, Ivan Staley and wife Frances, and Howard Staley and wife Phyllis all of Mt. Vernon, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Elmer Staley and a sister Eloise Pakish.
