Wilma Eileen (Greear) Steward
Wilma Eileen Steward, 82, of Jacksonville, Al. and formerly of Mt. Vernon died at 11:12 a.m. Jan. 7, 2005, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, Gadsden, Al. She was a legal secretary and homemaker. She was born June 3, 1922 in Mt. Vernon to Raymond Greear and Lelah (Bruce) Greear. She married William “Bill” Carson Steward on Jan. 4, 1941 in Mt. Vernon. He died July 24, 2002. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at Oakwood Cemetery. Those attending this service are asked to go directly to the cemetery on Monday. Rev. Everett Lemay will officiate. No public visitation will be held. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Smoke and husband Ben of Waynesboro, VA., and Gail Steward of Jacksonville, Al.; one grandson, Daniel Goldsmith, Jacksonville, Al.; one granddaughter, Sonya Cain and husband Kevin of Cincinnati, Oh.; one great-grandson, Ethan Cain, Cincinnati, Ohio, and one sister, Glenda McHattan and husband, Charles, of Phoenix, Ariz. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
