Deadly typhoid fever claimed another victim last night in Field township, when Chas. Stonecypher, a prominent farmer of that section, succumbed to ravages of the disease. He had been ill for several weeks and was thought to have passed the dangerous crisis when a relapse set in and his death speedily followed.

Mr. Stonecypher was a well-known citizen throughout this part of the county and was a progressive farmer and substantial citizen. He was fifty-nine years old. The funeral will take place at Hopewell Thursday morning at 11 o'clock.

The subject of this sketch was born of very pious parents, George and Mary Stonecypher, in Jefferson county, Jan. 4, 1853.

He was married to Ettie Bates Feb. 19,1880, and settled on the farm where he ever afterward lived. Here their only child, Orley, was born.

In early life he professed faith in Christ and became a member of the Methodist church at Hopewell in which he lived a faithful and devoted member. He was several years a Sunday-school teacher and officer in the church and was a teacher of the bible class when the Lord called him home. He loved the house of God and was true and faithful. As a citizen he was loyal, as a neighbor he was obliging and by his quiet nature he formed ties with many who will now soon forget him. He was a kind and loving husband and a patient and loving father. He loved his family, home, and friends; he was one of nature's noblemen, in sickness or trouble it was comforting to be in his presence. He always looked on the bright side.

After an illness of about six weeks, during which he was very patient, he fell asleep in Jesus Nov. 28th, 1911, aged 58 years, 10 months and 24 days.

Many times during his illness he spoke to his family of his blessed home beyond. He was perfectly willing and ready to go, but regretted to leave his lonely companion. Just a few moments before his departure he realized he was going and called his loved ones to him and with heavenly light brightening his face he bade them all good bye and asked them all to meet him in heaven where loved ones never part.

He leaves to mourn his departure an aged mother, a broken-hearted wife, one son, Orley, one grandson, Byron, two brothers, one sister, and a host of friends and relatives. A good man has fallen asleep; peace to his blessed memory.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. Doc Flint, of Lawrenceville, assisted by the pastor.
