Orley Everett Stonesypher, one of Jefferson county's best known residents, was fatally injured Saturday afternoon when he fell from the hayloft at his farm home on RFD 6, Mt. Vernon. He was 70 years, ten months and 28 days of age.

Mr. Stonesypher was coming down a ladder from the hayloft when he slipped and fell, suffering internal injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he died at 7:40 am Sunday. Coroner Ben Roeder conducted an inquiry and returned a verdict of death from internal injuries suffered in an accidental fall.

Mr. Stonesypher was employed in the wood (????) shop at the local car company for 45 years.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 am at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Alma McClain will officiate and burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel, where friends may call after 7:00 pm today.

Mr. Stonesypher was born October 2, 1882 in Jefferson county, the son of Charles and Georgetta (Bates) Stonesypher.

On December 24, 1903 he was married, in Jefferson county, to Nell McNutt, who survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Byron Stonesypher of Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Nichols of Detroit, Mich.; and one grandchild.
