Beulah M. (Frazier) Pflaum Stover
Beulah M. Stover, 98, of Mt. Vernon died 1:30 a.m. March 17, 2006, at Mt. Vernon Country Side Manor. She was born June 22, 1907, in Jefferson County to Willis and Ida Belle (Owens) Frazier. Beulah was first married to Charles Pflaum, who died Oct. 10, 1946. She later married Nelson Stover, who also preceded her in death. Beulah was a cook at Rusty's Cafe and Dollies Cafe, both in Mt. Vernon. Graveside services are set for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Jefferson County. Rev. Merle Fullerton will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Jefferson County. Visitation is set for 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Survivors include daughters Ruby Ferguson of Mt. Vernon and Roberta Sanor of California; grandchildren Diana Carkin and husband John of Topeka, Kan., Edward Ferguson and wife Peggy of Mt. Vernon, Dottie Johnson and husband Alfred of Mt. Vernon, Robin Lipe of Carmi and Matthew Sanor of New York; 11 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, three sisters and granddaughter Debra Jo Ferguson. Beulah was a member of the Mt. Vernon Eagles Lodge Auxiliary. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the West Side Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL, 62864.
