LEONARD STRATTAN FUNERAL SUNDAY Funeral services for Leonard E. Strattan will be held at Myers Chapel with the Rev. Carl Whittington Officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens. Mr. Strattan, 63 of 233 Castleton, died Thursday at Veteran's Hospital at Hines IL., where he had been a patient for the last three weeks. He had been employed as a psychiatric aide at the Elgin State Hospital. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call until 4:00 p.m. today. He was born Dec. 5, 1899 in this city the son of Fred and Hattie (Ellis) Strattan. On March 10, 1923 he was Married to Dorothy Skelton, who survives.He is also survived by a son Leonard M. Strattan of Portsmouth Ohio; four daughters, Mrs Lois Stone of Morganstown, Ind., Mrs. Dorothy Olin of Mt. Vernon, Mrs Maple Ruth Huckleberry and Mrs. Rebecca Taylor, both of Joliet; three sisters, Mrs Ruth Porter and Mrs. Alice Funkhouser both of Mt. Vernon and Mrs Helen Prather of Chatham IL. and nine grand-children. Mr. Strattan served as a Seaman 1/C in the U. S. Navy in World War I. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon American Legion, which will conduct Military services. He was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church.
