Lizzie (Hart) Stratton
Lizzie (Hart) Stratton, 90, of Mt. Vernon died 12:22 a.m. Dec. 4, 2004, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. She was born June 2, 1914, in Enfield to Charles and Martha (Whipple) Hart. She is widowed. Mrs. Stratton was retired from the phone communications department with Western Electric. Services are set for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Enfield Cemetery in Enfield. Those attending the graveside services are asked to go directly to the cemetery on Tuesday. The Rev. Everett Lemay will officiate. Burial will be in Enfield Cemetery in Enfield. Visitation is set for 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Survivors include daughters Neawana Jeanne Baldwin of Waltonville, Diana Kaye Smith of Waltonville and Delores Faye Hatley and husband Claude of Texico; sons Donald Joe Veatch and wife Laura Lou of Texico and William Burton "Bill" Hargrove of Mt. Vernon; 17 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Shirley Mae Ford; brothers Herchel Hart, Bert Hart, Charles Hart, Earl Hart and Carl Ralph Hart; and sisters Hattie Belva, Minerva Hanes and Lucy Chappel.
